What We Do
The purpose of this team is to explore solutions, develop and implement prototypes that add value for customers. Students will learn optimization model basics, apply models using software (commercial and open source), develop heuristic algorithms, gain industry knowledge, and interact with real customers.

Team ORSOL 2024
Starting with a focus on predicting optimal EV charging station locations, ORSOL overcame challenges with SAS analytics to deliver a standout presentation to SAS Institute. Leadership shifted to Professor Siva Seetharaman, who guided the team toward optimizing existing stations. Under Wooky Kim, the team grew from 4 to 11 members, earned runner-up in the 2024 SAS Curiosity Cup, and presented at major Purdue conferences. Their reports and media showcase their innovative data analysis and growing expertise.
